We have now got the Islington Climate Centre for Monday evening meet-ups. What we need to do now, emphasising our group psychology again, is attend these meet-ups, both to keep our motivation levels up, to ensure newcomers jump in at the deep end, and of course discuss what we're doing and make sure we're on the straight and narrow.

What we need to do now is create the culture for volunteers and trustees which says we all turn up on Monday evenings as often as possible. If you think about it, going to the gym, or to choir practice, or evening classes is something you do every week. So let's not kid ourselves that sorting out climate change and taking care of our long term climate-impacted mental health is any different.

Hi Group,

our Climate Fresk workshop is happening tonight at 6pm and we have some spare places, so it would be particularly awesome if any of you who haven't ever done a fresk could do this tonight! Short notice I admit but it is important that we have all experienced these workshops so we can all talk knowledgeably about them when discussing how we promote them, use them, and benefit from them.

I will knock out a quick flyer for the 17th 2 Tonnes workshop to hand out tonight as well - @Bénédicte Coulomb do you have any more images or graphics about 2 Tonnes I can use?

Monday 3rd recap

It was just me and Rhya but I was glad to talk through some of this stuff and presumably as we go on we'll get more people attending. We talked about the accountability group and agreed to post on the discussion board thread about it so everyone can discuss: https://forum.ecocounts.community/d/163-accountability-group-1/4

I figured everyone would be interested to know I'm collaborating with Michael Solomon of Responsible 100 who really like the EcoCore policy idea for business, the carbon currency etc. He brought in corporations like Google, BP and so on to Responsible 100 and then realised they were using it to greenwash themselves, so he has rebooted it and I'm helping him with some of the techie stuff by way of a deal.

We talked about rewriting parts of the manifesto, particularly because Michael said he found some of it too difficult.

We also discussed the psychology stuff, like how do we keep our focus on the fact that we are racing towards oblivion when everyone around ignores it.

Next week I'll put a concise little agenda for Mondays into the newsletter on Sunday evening/Monday before the meeting.

Also, the 2 of us agreed a regular monthly social event would be a good idea. Any ideas anyone? A zero carbon pub?
